Step 1: Set up Fleece Jacket

To start, let’s set up our fleece jacket in the laser. First we’ll place a box in the laser to raise the jacket above the table. This will help to ensure the jacket lays flat. We’re using a fabric hoop to hold the area we’ll be engraving as flat as possible.

Next manually focus the laser to raise the table to the ideal height.

Step 2: Prepare Artwork for your Fleece Jacket

Now in our design software we’ll select our first design. Print the file to the laser, “Selection Only”.

Using the camera, align your artwork over the jacket and resize it as needed. We’re using a 30 watt Fusion Maker 12 today, so we’ll set our resolution to 200 dpi, our speed to 100%, and power to 25%. Set the dithering pattern to “Stucki”. And set the engraving direction from bottom up. Print the file to the laser.

Step 3: Run the first Design

At the laser, select the fleece jacket file and press the start button to begin engraving.

Step 4: Repeat the process as desired

Now we’ll repeat the process on another jacket using our second graphic. Print the file to the laser. Align the artwork with the camera.

Once we have our settings created, print the file to the laser.

Step 5: Engrave the front of the jacket

For the next engraving on the front of the jacket, we’ll break up the artwork in two parts. Lay the jacket out flat on the box.

Move the graphic so it is correctly aligned. When ready, print the file to the laser.

Now we’ll repeat the process with the second half of the paw print design.

We can also use the camera to layout a fun design using various images. Ungroup your images and move them on the screen to create a one-of-a-kind design!
