Sample Club: Pet ID Tags

Here we look at a fun and creative way to help protect your pet – personalized ID tags. These rounded rectangular tags made of anodized aluminum can easily be attached to your pet’s collar and help get your furry friend home a lot quicker in the instance he or she gets lost.

Right click on any of the files below and choose "Save target as." Open the file in CorelDraw 8 or later.

The Epilog system used for this project was a 35-watt Helix.
  • First, open the file petidtag.cdr.
  • Next, measure the dimensions of the pet ID tag you’ll be engraving on. Ours was 1.938w by 1.125h.
  • Change the page width and height to the dimensions for your ID tag (if applicable.)
  • Make sure to take into consideration the hole in the tag that allows you to attach to the pet collar. Reposition and resize the pet ID graphic as necessary.

Print settings:  

  • Set the horizontal and vertical lengths to correspond to the dimensions of your CorelDRAW page.                    
  • We set our 35-watt Helix raster settings to:
    Speed:
    100%
    Power: 80%                                                                                                                            
  • Note: Your power and speed settings will need to be adjusted depending on the wattage of your Epilog system. Results will vary slightly depending on the material your pet ID tag is made of.                                                                                       
  • Then send the file to the laser.                                                                                   
  • Now press GO!
