Epilog laser to Sponsor, Exhibit at Maker Faire May 3 - 4
Company featuring do-it-yourself engraving station, plus newest product additions

Golden, Colo. – (April 3, 2008)

Epilog Laser, the leading producer of flying-optics based CO2 and fiber laser systems, today announced the company would participate as both a sponsor and exhibitor at the upcoming Maker Faire in San Mateo, Calif., May 3 and 4.

Presenting in the Show Barn with many other “hands-on” exhibitors, Epilog will showcase the company’s newest product, the Zing Laser. Priced very competitively, the Zing Laser boasts 25 watts of power, an all-metal, air-cooled laser tube, and several standard features such as Air Assist and a motorized engraving table.

“Since it’s an entry-level system, the Zing Laser is perfect for all kinds of Makers,” said Mike Dean, director of sales and marketing for Epilog. “Application possibilities are virtually limitless,” Dean said, “Just like our larger machines, the Zing is capable of cutting and engraving wood, acrylic, plastic, leather, cork, Corian, glass, treated metals and more. The only difference is the price and the size.”

Also new this year will be a DIY laser engraving station where attendees can actually engrave their own gadgets.

“This year attendees can see for themselves just how easy the equipment is to use because they’ll be able to run the machinery themselves and engrave their own items,” Dean said.

“We’ll have an array of files, logos and pre-made designs that participants can engrave. Historically the iPods and iPhones are always the most popular.”

Attendees are invited to stop by the Show Barn during normal show hours on May 3 and 4 to visit the DIY engraving station, see the new Zing Laser and learn more about Epilog.
